The flying foxes of Nosy Fanihy<\/h3><\/div><\/div>\n\n

The Madagascar flying fox (Pteropus rufus) is a fruit-eating bat with a wingspan that can exceed 1 metre. On Nosy Fanihy, several hundred individuals nest in the trees of the coastal forest. As diurnal creatures, they can be observed throughout the day. They play a vital role in the pollination of Madagascan fruit trees.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
