Then, a 20-minute boat ride away, lies Nosy Tanikely, a designated marine reserve with crystal-clear waters, where turtles and tropical fish swim amongst the abundant coral.

Nosy Komba & Tanikely: what you need to know

The lemurs of Nosy Komba

Nosy Komba is home to one of Madagascar’s largest populations of lemurs (Eulemur macaco). Accustomed to visitors, they come down to the shore and sometimes climb onto your shoulders. A unique encounter, to be experienced in silence and with respect for their environment.

The Nosy Tanikely Marine Reserve

Nosy Tanikely is a protected marine reserve. Its waters are home to green turtles, stingrays, groupers and schools of tropical fish. It is one of the best snorkelling sites in all of Madagascar. Access is restricted.

Snorkelling at Nosy Tanikely

Excellent visibility all year round in the reserve. Sea turtles, surgeonfish, butterflyfish and colourful seabeds. Your guide will take you to the best spots. Full equipment included.

Can we touch the lemurs?

No. The lemurs will approach you of their own accord, but physical contact is discouraged for their protection. Your guide will show you how to interact with them respectfully

Is the trip guaranteed to go ahead?

The trip is guaranteed to run with a minimum of 4 people. In the event of bad weather, the trip will be rescheduled at no extra cost.

Is there an entrance fee for Nosy Tanikely?

Yes. An entrance fee of a few euros is collected by the local community to help preserve the reserve. This fee is included in the price of the excursion.
