Nosy Iranja: what you need to know
The sandbar, a natural phenomenon
At low tide, a white sandbar connects the two islets. At high tide, it disappears beneath the water. The best time to photograph it varies with the tides.
The sea turtles of Nosy Iranja
Nosy Iranja is one of the main nesting sites for green turtles (Chelonia mydas) in Madagascar. Between May and October, the females come ashore to lay their eggs on the beaches. All year round, they can be seen swimming in the lagoon.
Snorkelling at Nosy Iranja
The waters around the island are home to remarkable reef life. Parrotfish, surgeonfish, stingrays, groupers... and sea turtles. Good visibility from May to November.

Can we swim with the turtles?
Yes. Provided you respect the turtles and their environment. Your guide will explain the rules for approaching them before you enter the water.
Is the trip guaranteed?
Departure guaranteed for groups of 4 or more. In the event of bad weather, the trip will be rescheduled at no extra cost.
Can we camp on Nosy Iranja?
Yes. We organise camping trips on the island. This service includes transport, meals, drinks, and the setting up and management of the campsite.
