SEA
The Mitsio Islands form a volcanic archipelago 50 kilometres north of Nosy Be. Comprising several islands – Grande Mitsio, Tsarabanjina and other islets – it is characterised by impressive basalt formations and deserted beaches. With few tourists and accessible only by boat from Nosy Be, it is the ideal destination for an adventure camping trip.
Authenticity and extraordinary landscapes
What you’ll find on the Mitsio Islands
Basalt columns
One of the archipelago’s geological wonders: hexagonal basalt columns, remnants of the volcanic activity that formed the islands. A spectacular rocky landscape, unique in the region.
Marine life
The Mitsio reefs are largely unexplored and in excellent condition. Reef sharks, barracudas, manta rays, dolphins – marine life is abundant.

Deserted beaches
Very few hotels, no infrastructure. The beaches of the Mitsio archipelago are deserted, the sand pristine. A feeling of being at the end of the world.
